Milano Design Week’24: Novelties from SICIS

This year, SICIS celebrated the union between its decorative spirit, the fruit of years of research and revision of classic stylistic iconography, and its more innovative and colorful soul, which has given rise to iconic collections recognized worldwide.

Let’s take a look at the main novelties of SICIS during Milano Design Week 2024. All materials are available for downloading and sharing (link at the end of the article).

The Maya Outdoor

The Maya outdoor collection reinvents the concept of outdoor furniture, combining high-tech materials with contemporary design. Polypropylene rope elements and stainless steel structures combine with innovations such as Baydur60 to create furniture that is both strong and light, ideal for any outdoor space. The collection also includes outdoor fabrics and new lighting solutions such as the Boheme lamps and chandeliers, which add elegance and functionality to the outdoor environment.

Model PRESTIGE for Outdoor Use

The company has introduced an outdoor version of the already well-known PRESTIGE model. This model features removable cushions with covers made from the new BERCY GARDENIA fabric, which is waterproof. Inside, the cushions are lined with a special membrane for additional protection. The modular design allows for the sofa to be reconfigured to meet individual needs.

Impressive Details and Dining Areas

The most impressive feature of the outdoor collection is the enormous bas-relief depicting a lion, with a diameter of three meters. For those who prefer a smaller decoration, a smaller version is available. The enormous dining table en plain air, over four meters long, is made of metal with wooden sides and finished with vitrite. The table is surrounded by chairs from the maya collection, made using the same technology as the armchairs.

Lighting and Decorative Elements

For outdoor lighting, Sicis has introduced the Boheme collection, protected according to the IP65 standard. The collection includes ceiling lights: a large chandelier with nine pendants and a round chandelier. These lights, despite their elegant design, are intended for outdoor use.

The First Rialto Kitchen by Sicis

zzA highlight of 2024 is the first kitchen collection, Rialto. The centerpiece of the kitchen is a huge island measuring 4.46 meters in length, with rounded ends and built-in drawers. The island is finished with Vetrite and wood, providing a unique tactile experience. The set includes a cooktop and a sink, with faucet handles also made of Vetrite.

The Botero Collection: Quiet Luxury and New Elements

The botero collection of sofas and armchairs is presented in a style of “quiet luxury,” making it particularly relevant. A new addition is the junca lamp, a glowing rod with stacked discs of transparent glass in various shades.

The absolute premiere of this year is the botero bed, complementing the existing collection. The collection is named after the famous Mexican sculptor Fernando Botero, known for his works with voluptuous forms.

Lighting Solutions and the Katana Collection

The lighting for this space is provided by the new Katana collection of fixtures. The main idea is the use of stained glass Vetrite for the lampshades, which is an innovation. Vetrite can have a variety of designs, showcasing the possibilities for personalization. For dining area lighting, more standard pendants with horizontal bars can be used.

Updated Dining Area: Philippe Table and Athena Chairs

The dining area features an updated version of the Philippe table, impressive in its size at 4.40 meters. Its shape is irregular and whimsical, giving it a unique character. Now, the table’s lighting can be partial, not just full as before. The table is accompanied by new Athena chairs and armchairs, distinguished by an interesting backrest shape, specially molded and upholstered in leather. Butterfly embroidery on the leather adds a touch of sophistication to these pieces.

Mix & Match: SICIS’s Brightest Releases

At the center of this space is the new Savage pouf. This pouf easily transforms into a sofa by moving the backrest. The concept behind the creation of the eclipse sofas and poufs is the mix-and-match principle, allowing you to combine the upholstery of each backrest element and the base. You can use contrasting details such as cord or fringe. The very original Saddle poufs, which indeed resemble a saddle, offer a variety of finishes to satisfy equestrian enthusiasts.

Exotic Paradise Armchairs

The beverage area is adorned with paradise armchairs, featuring intricate embroidery of exotic patterns on their backs. This same pattern is echoed in the mosaic panels installed in the makeshift windows behind the bar counter. The wall finishes include paper-based wallpaper, a new offering from Sicis, while the mirrored arches are traditionally made from Vetrite.

Sicis also offers wall-to-wall carpeting. The design of the carpets can be customized to match your preferences or the architectural features of the space.
